Captain Ken Morris :
Fishing and outdoors activities have always been a part of Ken’s life even though he was born in Yonkers, New York.
His early summers were spent in Rhode Island on a saltwater pond near Charlestown. There, Ken’s earliest memories include catching big Bluefish with his father who kept one hand close to the rod so that it would not be pulled from Ken’s hands. As soon as Ken was old enough he went out on his own and quite frequently catching more fish than his father.
In addition to fishing in Rhode Island Ken started coming to the keys in 1986 with his parents and fished Florida Bay and the flats with local guides. He enjoyed fishing here so much that he permanently moved to Islamorada in 1996 to start guiding.
Being an avid fly-fisherman himself, Ken ties all his own flies for him and his anglers use allowing to better match the flies to the current conditions. He is always willing to take the time to show his anglers some of the finer points of sight fishing the flats.
Whatever type of tackle anglers prefer (light spin or fly) Capt. Ken’s knowledge of the local waters will ensure you of a memorable day in Florida Bay.
